Description of Resource offered ‘I Am’ Project; a 9-session relationship course using the creative arts. Equipping participants to make and maintain respectful, positive and healthy relationships; free from coercion, violence and intimidation.
Trainee Cost of Course £150 for 2-day practitioner training which includes the first year’s licence to use the material and membership of the ‘I Am’ Network.
Centre cost of course materials Licence for subsequent years are £75 for up to 6 trained practitioners.
Handbook and resources provided electronically for in-house printing.
Previous experience of Course provider/trainer (relevant if they are providing a revised training modules or manual) Trainers are experienced in the ‘I Am’ Project and with expertise of working with vulnerable women.
What course achieves for the participants (e.g. qualification gained, any accreditation, which centres recognise this course) Participants become ‘I Am’ Practitioners, equipped to run their own ‘I Am’ Project in their organisation and community. As a member of the ‘I Am’ Network, practitioners receive regular update emails and bespoke email support for starting their projects.
Steps taken to ensure the quality of the resource The ‘I Am’ Project has been developed by Choices Islington and following its pilot (2013) was delivered by Choices for 3 years in HMP Holloway. The Practitioner Training drawers on the expertise and experience that Choices has developed both in delivering this course and in working with vulnerable women in prison and the community.
